Although Big Fish Games distributes over 2,500 games from a vast array of different developers, many fans of Big Fish Games may want to branch out and experience different types and styles of online games. Luckily, there are dozens of companies that provide quality games for a low cost (or even FREE!), and we believe they should know the top game publishers around town.

Below are some of the hottest game distributors around town:

Pop Cap Games:

Based in Seattle, Washington, Pop Cap games is quickly raising to the #1 spot as the biggest cross-platform game developer in the nation. They develop games that not only can be downloaded on PC or Mac, but can be played on platforms such as Nintendo DS, Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii.

Some of their biggest titles include:

  • -Peggle
    PopCap Games
  • - BeJewled
  • -Plants Vs Zombies
  • -BookWorms

GameHouse:

GameHouse is another game company based in Seattle, WA (it makes sense when you realize video games are the go-to form of entertainment in a city that’s constantly stuck in a “rainy day”). GameHouse serves as one of the top game portals on the internet, although they do have their own team of in-house game devs. Some of their more popular titles include:

  • -Ancient Secrets
  • -Feeding Frenzy!
  • -Collapse (series)
  • -GameHouse Sad0ku

NewGrounds.com

If you’re looking for games that don’t require download and you’re in the mood to stay on your internet browser, we suggest newgrounds.com. NewGrounds has been around for years and years, and is the go-to spot for entertaining browser games as well as humorous (and often disturbing) flash movies.

AddictingGames.com

Addicting Games is similar to NewGrounds, with the exception of being entirely focused on Browser-based games. No, these games don’t really match up to the quality of Big Fish Games or Pop Cap Games, but they’re nice when you want a brief distraction. Tower Defense, Shooters, and platform games seem to be their hottest “sellers” – so if you’re looking for fast-paced time-wasters, I would definitely check them out.

Well, there ya’ go. Hopefully the above game portals will give you something new and exciting when you’re on your break from Big Fish Games.

More to come!
